Product Overview
Scientific profile
RETATRUTIDE (LY3437943) is a 39-residue synthetic peptide engineered as a single-molecule agonist at three class B G-protein-coupled receptors: the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR), the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and the glucagon receptor (GCGR).
Research Background
The backbone is derived from the GIP sequence and incorporates two α-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) residues and an α-methyl-leucine to resist DPP-4 proteolysis. Lys17 carries a C20 fatty-diacid side chain attached through a γ-glutamic acid / AEEA linker, which promotes reversible albumin binding and an extended circulating half-life. Its pharmacology was first described by Coskun et al. (Cell Metabolism, 2022).
Areas of Investigation
- Comparative incretin and glucagon receptor pharmacology, including receptor potency ratios and signalling bias
- Energy expenditure and substrate utilisation in preclinical metabolic models
- Hepatic lipid metabolism and glucagon-mediated pathways
- Structure–activity relationships of lipidated multi-agonist peptides
Analytical Profile
Each batch is characterised by reverse-phase HPLC (purity) and electrospray mass spectrometry (identity). Supplied as a lyophilized solid for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory research.
